The Foto Zerüi partnership for photographers

Foto Zerüi was founded in 2005 as a not-for-profit partnership for photographers.
It has studios in Watton (Norfolk, UK) and Genoa (Italy).

The two founders are physicists who study life in the ocean.
They practise photography in their work and as a hobby.

Silvana Vallerga is Chief Researcher at CNR, based in Genoa.
She was recently elected a Fellow of the Linnean Society.

John Woods is Emeritus Professor at Imperial College London.
He is a gold medallist of the Royal Geographical Society

Foto Zerüi promotes photography through public events and by developing the photographic skills of its young associates,

The name, Foto Zerüi, comes from the founders’ home in Liguria.
Zerüi is in Alpicella (Varazze), where Silvana’s ancestors have lived for over a thousand years.

Foto Zerüi has a broad artistic scope that extends from
Portraits to Landscapes, Nature to Architecture and Photo-journalism.
Silvana specializes in macro-photography of flowers and insects.
John prefers panoramas and experimental photography.
Both partners take portraits in the studio and outdoors.

Foto Zerüi operates worldwide.
Recent photo-expeditions have visited sites in Europe, South Africa, Bermuda and Fiji.

Foto Zerüi publishes an annual calendar, postcards and notelets,
Recent subjects include African wildlife (2004), Spring flowers (2005), Watercolours (2006).
High quality art prints are made by hand for sale.
Foto Zerüi also undertakes photographic commissions.

The last Foto Zerüi public exhibition of photography
was held in Alpicella (Italian Riviera) from 2-17 July 2006.
The exhibits were be auctioned on 17 July, with the proceeds going to charity.

Current projects include illustrations for books on
Water colours, Solitude, History of Alpicella, Flora of Monte Beigua, and Stories for children.
